The Craft of Handmade Shoes

Firstly an appointment is made with the London Shoemaker who will carefully take measurements of your feet.

Once you have been measured, a last (the wooden form of your foot) will be crafted by hand. A pattern of your chosen style is then made & your choice of leather is then cut to this pattern.

A Pair of Lasts

From here the upper is put together before we produce the shoe through to a “fitting”. The shoe is now ready for you to try on & at this stage if there are any alterations that need to be made they are easily done.

After your fitting we generally finish off the shoe by putting the soles & heels on. Your shoes are then fitted with a pair of hand made shoe trees & finally polished to a gleaming shine, ready for you to wear with pride.

Finished Shoes

Eventually when your shoes are in need of repair, return them to us. We can put the last back in to remove any creasing & our hand repair will bring them back as new.
